ChattState Increases Access with ORAU University Consortium Membership

Last month, Chattanooga State Community College joined 171 other higher education institutions as an affiliate member of Oak Ridge Associated Universities.
As an affiliate member, ChattState will increase access to funding research, professional growth and development opportunities, and interesting collaborations with government agencies, national laboratories, and private industry to advance scientific research and education.
“We were at an inflection point for how folks come to higher education,” said Rebekah Hersch, Ph.D., outgoing chair of the ORAU Council of Sponsoring Institutions. “Many students come through community colleges, and they want to go on to a four-year institution or go on to work now and to a university years later. This is a win for the community colleges and a win for ORAU, and I could not be more excited.”
