Chattanooga, TN --- The Chattanooga Area Section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) recently donated $825 to the Chattanooga State Foundation for Engineering Technology scholarships. The funding from SWE Chattanooga is a reflection of the growing demand for highly trained engineers and technicians in the local area.

The Society of Women Engineers Chattanooga Area Section Scholarship is an annual scholarship awarded for the fall semester of each year. Students who apply for the scholarship must be enrolled in one of the programs in the Engineering Technology Division.

For more than 60 years, SWE has been a source of support for the success of women in the field of engineering. The organization is proactive in lobbying at the national level for legislation that is beneficial to engineers and women engineers in particular. In addition, SWE members have access to webinars, continuing education, conferences and events, a magazine, and a career center.

Anyone interested in one of the many careers in engineering technology available in the Chattanooga area should inquire about the training offered by the Engineering Technology program at Chattanooga State. Contact Amanda Bennett at (423) 697-2496 or et_advising@chattanoogastate.edu.
